Steering Knuckle Replacement

Component Name

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  3. Separate the outer track rod end from the knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Track rod Replacement .
  4. Separate control arm ball joint from steering knuckle. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .

Steering Knuckle Bolt (Qty: 2)

Steering Knuckle Nut (Qty: 2)

Warning: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. Install NEW nuts. Do NOT reuse old nuts.
  2. Use EN-45059 angle meter to apply torque.

Tighten
90 N·m (66 lb ft) + 60-70 degrees
