Preliminary Procedures

Remove the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side .

Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft Bearing Bolt (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Note: Use care when removing the intermediate drive shaft from the transmission as not to damage the seal.

Tighten
22 N·m (16 lb ft)

Front Wheel Drive Intermediate Shaft

Procedure

After installation of the right wheel drive shaft, assure a proper installation by prizing the intermediate shaft. If it is not movable, the installation is proper.

Note: The DT-6332 protector must be installed into the differential output shaft seal prior to removing and installing the intermediate shaft. Failure to install the DT-6332 protector may cause splines of the intermediate shaft to cut the differential output seal.

By testing for a proper installation the risk of over insert is given.
