Radiator Replacement - 1.8L 2H0 - Automatic Transmission

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection : without Start/Stop System .
  2. Remove the air conditioning condenser. Refer to Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement : 1.8L 2H0 and 2.0L Diesel LNP .
  3. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  5. Remove the radiator inlet hose clip (2) and the radiator inlet hose (1).
  6. Remove the radiator inlet hose clip (6) and the radiator outlet hose (5).
  7. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug (3).

  9. Remove the ground cable nut (3) and the ground cable (4).
  10. Disconnect the engine cooling fan resistor wiring harness plug (2).
  11. Unclip the engine cooling fan wiring harness (6) from the 7 wiring harness clips (1, 5, 7). Hang the engine cooling fan wiring harness aside.
  12. Remove the transmission oil cooler inlet and outlet pipe from the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement : LBN, LLW and Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement : LBN, LLW .

  14. Unclip the engine cooling fan cowl (1) at the 4 mounting points (2).
  15. Note: Push the engine cooling fan to the right side.

  16. Remove the engine cooling fan cowl in top direction from the radiator.

  18. Remove the 2 radiator upper bracket bolts (1) and the 2 radiator upper brackets (2) from the radiator (4).
  19. Remove the 2 radiator upper insulators (3) from the radiator.
  20. Remove the radiator in top direction from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator to the vehicle.
  2. Install the 2 radiator upper insulators (3) to the radiator.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the 2 radiator upper brackets (2) and the 2 radiator upper bracket bolts (1) to the from the radiator (4) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  6. Install the engine cooling fan cowl in top direction from the radiator.
  7. Clip the engine cooling fan cowl (1) to the 4 mounting points (2).
  8. Install the transmission oil cooler inlet and outlet pipe to the radiator. Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Inlet Pipe Replacement : LBN, LLW and Transmission Fluid Cooler Outlet Pipe Replacement : LBN, LLW .

  10. Position the engine cooling fan wiring harness (6). Clip the engine cooling fan wiring harness to the 7 wiring harness clips (1, 5, 7).
  11. Connect the engine cooling fan resistor wiring harness plug (2).
  12. Install the ground cable (4) and the ground cable nut (3) and tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  14. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor wiring harness plug (3).
  15. Install the radiator inlet hose clip (6) and the radiator outlet hose (5).
  16. Install the radiator inlet hose clip (2) and the radiator inlet hose (1).
  17. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  18. Install the air conditioning condenser. Refer to Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement : 1.8L 2H0 and 2.0L Diesel LNP .
  19. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection : without Start/Stop System .
