Water Pump Replacement

Warning: In order to avoid personal injury, do not remove the cap or open the cooling system drains from a hot system. Allow the system to cool first.

1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .



3. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .



4. Disconnect the coolant hose(s) from the water pump.
5. Remove the water pump from engine block.

1. Install the water pump to engine block.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the three engine coolant thermostat bolts and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).



3. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .



4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
5. Refill the engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
