Transmission Fluid Replacement

Warning: The transmission fluid is hot. Caution must be taken to prevent personal injury when the transmission fluid drains from the transmission.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .



2. Remove the transmission case oil drain plug (2) and allow the transmission to drain completely.
3. Remove the transmission case oil fill plug (1).

Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the NEW transmission case oil drain plug (2) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
2. Add transmission fluid until it seeps out of the fluid level check plug hole.
3. Install the NEW transmission case oil fill plug (1) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
4. Lower the vehicle.
