Selector and Gear Shift Lever Cable Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .

  3. Remove the gear lever and selector lever cable pins (1).
  4. Remove the gear lever and selector lever cable washers (2).
  5. Disconnect the gear lever and selector lever cable from the shift control lever (4), selector, and gear lever cable bracket (3).

  6. Remove the transmission selector, gear lever cable bracket bolts (1), and washers (2).
  7. Remove the transmission selector, gear lever cable bracket (3), and bush (4).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission selector, gear lever cable bracket (3), and bush (4).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the transmission selector, gear lever cable bracket washers (2), and bolts (1), and tighten to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  3. Connect the gear lever and selector lever cable to the shift control lever (4), selector, and gear lever cable bracket (3).
  4. Install the gear lever and selector lever cable washers (2).
  5. Install the gear lever and selector lever cable pins (1).
  6. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  7. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
