Differential Case Disassemble

Special Tools

Refer to Special Tools for the equivalent local tools.

1. Remove the differential assembly. Refer to Transmission Disassemble .
2. Fix the differential assembly into a vice with a protector.
3. Remove 8 differential ring bolts (1).
4. Remove the ring gear (2).



5. Remove the pinion gear shaft pin (1) using a pin punch and a hammer.



6. Remove the pinion gear shaft (1) from the case.




Note: Remove the pinion gear and the washer by rotating the side gear.

7. Remove the pinion gears and the washers (1).
8. Remove the side gears (3).
9. Remove the adjust shims from the side gears (2).



10. Remove the differential right bearing using the DT-50065 differential bearing puller (1) and DT-50066 differential bearing plate adapter (2).
11. Remove the speedometer drive gear (3).



12. Remove the differential left side bearing using the DT-50065 differential bearing puller (1) and DT-50067 differential bearing plate adapter (2).
