Note: Be careful not to distort the reverse clutch spring retainer assembly when pressing into position using DT-47525 reverse clutch spring compressor.

    Note:

       • Ensure that the circlip fits snugly into the drum groove.
       • Ensure that the circlip opening is not aligned with the stopper.
       • Ensure that the circlip opening is aligned with the concave aperture.

  4. Press the spring retainer assembly (2) using the DT-47525 reverse clutch spring compressor (3) and install the circlip (1).

Note: Before using a new reverse clutch plate set, soak it in ATF for more than 2 hours.

  6. Install 2 separator plates (4), 2 friction plates (3) and the retaining plate (2) to the reverse clutch drum (5).
  7. Install the snap ring (1).

  8. 2308919
  9. Using a thickness gauge (1), measure the clearance between the circlip (2) and the retaining plate (3).
  10. Clearance Specification

        • Specification standard is 0.5--0.8 mm (0.02--0.03 in).
        • Specification application limit is 1.0 mm (0.04 in).

    2308923
  11. If the application limit is exceeded, replace the friction plates (2) and the separator plates (3) with new ones, and select a suitable retaining plate (1) so that the specified clearance will be obtained.
  12. If the clearance is less than the application limit, select a suitable retaining plate so that the clearance will fall within the desired range.

  13. 2308930

Note: Close the other holes when blowing air using an air gun (2).

  14. Blow air into the oil inlet of reverse clutch drum (1) and check the function of the piston.
