For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
Note:
• | Apply automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to the new O-ring and seal ring. |
• | Be careful not to twist or misalign the O-ring when installing the high clutch piston. |
- Replace the seal rings (1) with new ones, then install the seal rings and the bearing (2) to the high clutch drum (5).
- Replace the O-rings (3, 4) with new ones, then install them to the high clutch piston (6).
- Install the high clutch piston to the high clutch drum.
Note: Be careful not to distort the high clutch spring retainer when pressing into position using DT-47527 high clutch spring compressor.
Note:
• | Ensure that the circlip fits snugly into the drum groove. |
• | Ensure that the circlip opening is not aligned with the stopper. |
• | Ensure that the circlip opening is aligned with the concave aperture. |
- Install the return spring (3) and the spring retainer (2).
- Press the spring retainer using the DT-47527 high clutch spring compressor (4) and press and install the circlip (1).
Note: Before using a new high clutch plate set, soak it in ATF for more than 2 hours.
- Install 3 separator plates (4), 3 friction plates (3) and the retaining plate (2) to the high clutch drum (5).
- Install the snap ring (1).
- Using a thickness gauge (1), measure the clearance between the circlip (2) and the retaining plate (3).
Clearance Specification
• | Specification standard is 1.8--2.2 mm (0.07--0.08 in) |
• | Specification application limit is 2.4 mm (0.09 in) |
- If the application limit is exceeded, replace the friction plates (2) and the separator plates (3) with new ones, and select a suitable retaining plate (1) so that the specified clearance will be obtained.
- If the clearance is less than the application limit, select a suitable retaining plate so that the clearance will fall within the desired range.
Note: Close the other holes when blowing air using an air gun (1).
- Blow air into the oil inlet of high clutch drum (2) and check the functioning of the piston.
