Circuit/System Description

The power door lock actuators are controlled through the door lock and unlock relays in the IP fuse block. While the relays are in the de-energised state, the actuator control circuits are grounded through the relays. When lock or unlock function is activated, the appropriate relay is energised and the control circuit is switched to battery voltage. The door lock relays are wired in parallel to the lock and unlock control circuits. Lock and unlock functions are determined by which control circuit is switched to battery voltage while the other remains grounded.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Command the door lock actuators to LOCK and UNLOCK by pressing the Lock and Unlock buttons on the remote keyless entry transmitter. The door lock actuators and tailgate lock actuator should LOCK and UNLOCK while changing between the commanded states.
  2. If one or more door lock actuators do not UNLOCK, refer to Door Unlock Relay Malfunction.
If one or more door lock actuators do not LOCK, refer to Door Lock Relay Malfunction.
  3. Command the door lock actuators to LOCK and UNLOCK by using the driver door lock switch. The door lock actuators should LOCK and UNLOCK while changing between the commanded states.
  4. If the driver door lock switch does not command the LOCK or UNLOCK functions, refer to Door Lock Switch Malfunction.
