1. Remove the tailgate trim panel. Refer to Tailgate Trim Panel Replacement .
2. Remove the tailgate lock cylinder. Refer to Tailgate Lock Cylinder Replacement .

Liftgate Outside Handle Nut (Qty: 5)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
5 N·m (44 lb in)

Disconnect the number plate lamp electrical connector. Refer to Rear Number plate Lamp Replacement .
