Generator Replacement

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
4. Disconnect the generator connector and remove the generator B (+) nut.
5. Remove the power steering line retaining bolt (1)/nut (2) and put the power steering line away from the path.



6. Remove the generator retaining bolt and nut.
7. Remove the generator.

1. Install the generator.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the generator retaining bolt and nut and tighten the bolt to 22 N·m (16 lb ft) and the nut to 12 N·m (9 lb in).
3. Connect the generator connector and install the generator B (+) nut.



4. Install the power steering line retaining bolt (1)/nut (2) and reposition the power steering line. Tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
5. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
6. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
