Camshaft Removal

1. Remove the first camshaft bearing cap (1).




Note: Note removal sequence 1-4.

2. Loosen the 8 exhaust camshaft bearing cap bolts, working from outside to inside in a spiral in steps of 1/2 up to 1 turn.

Note: Mark camshaft bearing caps before removal.

3. Remove the 8 exhaust camshaft bearing cap bolts.
4. Remove the 4 exhaust camshaft bearing caps numbers 6-9 from the cylinder head.
5. Remove the exhaust camshaft.




Note: Note removal sequence 1-4.

6. Loosen the 8 inlet camshaft bearing cap bolts, working from outside to inside in a spiral in steps of 1/2 up to 1 turn.
7. Remove the 8 inlet camshaft bearing cap bolts.

Note: Mark camshaft bearing caps before removal.

8. Remove the 4 inlet camshaft bearing caps numbers 2-5 from the cylinder head.



9. Remove the intake and exhaust (1) camshaft.
