Servo Unit Pump Replacement
Removal Procedure
With the engine OFF, apply and release the brake pedal several times to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
Remove the battery. Refer to
Battery Replacement
.
Remove the ECM bracket bolts (1), and then position the ECM and ECM bracket aside. Refer to
Engine Control Module Replacement
.
Remove the battery tray. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement
.
Disconnect the power brake booster pump electrical connector (1).
Remove the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connector (1).
Remove the power brake booster pump bracket bolt (2).
Remove the power brake booster pump bracket bolt (1).
Remove the power brake booster pump and bracket assembly from the vehicle.
Remove the power brake booster pump to bracket bolts (1) and nuts (2).
Remove the power brake booster pump from the bracket.
Installation Procedure
Install the power brake booster pump to the bracket.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the power brake booster pump to bracket bolt (1) and nut (2) and tighten to
7 N·m (62 lb in)
.
Install the power brake booster pump and bracket assembly to the vehicle.
Install the power brake booster pump bracket bolts (1) and tighten to
20 N·m (15 lb ft)
.
Install the power brake booster pump bracket bolt (2) and tighten to
20 N·m (15 lb ft)
.
Remove the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connector (1).
Connect the power brake booster pump electrical connector (1).
Install the battery tray. Refer to
Battery Tray Replacement
.
Install the ECM and ECM bracket. Refer to
Engine Control Module Replacement
.
Install the battery. Refer to
Battery Replacement
.
