Power Brake Booster Vacuum Hose Replacement

1. With the engine OFF, apply and release the brake pedal several times to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
3. Remove the ECM bracket bolts (1), and then position the ECM and ECM bracket aside. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .



4. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum switch electrical connector (1).



5. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connector (1) from the power brake booster pump.



6. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connector (1) from the intake manifold fitting.



7. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose from the brackets (1) on the intake manifold.



8. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum hose and vacuum switch assembly (1) from the power vacuum brake booster grommet.
9. Remove the power brake booster vacuum hose and vacuum switch assembly (1).



10. Remove the power brake booster vacuum hoses (1) from the vacuum switch (2), if necessary.

1. Install the power brake booster vacuum hoses (1) to the vacuum switch (2), if necessary.



2. Install the power brake booster vacuum hoses and vacuum switch assembly (1).

Note: A small amount of methylated spirit may be used to lubricate the power vacuum brake booster grommet.

3. Connect the power brake booster vacuum hoses and switch assembly (1) to the power vacuum brake booster grommet.



4. Connect the power brake booster vacuum hose to the brackets (1) on the intake manifold.



5. Connect the power brake booster vacuum pipe quick connector (1) to the intake manifold fitting.



6. Connect the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connector (1) to the power brake booster pump.



7. Connect the power brake booster vacuum switch electrical connector (1).
8. Install the ECM and ECM bracket. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
9. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
