Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearing Removal

    Note: The EN-50516 fixing tool should not be installed.

  1. Set the crankshaft to BDC of combustion stroke of cylinder 1.
  2. Remove the 2 connecting rod bearing cap bolts (3) from the cylinder 1.
  3. Note: The shear surfaces of the connecting rod and the connecting rod bearing cap form a unique fit and must not be swapped or damaged. Do not lay down on the shear surfaces.

    Note: Set aside in the order removed.

  4. Remove the connecting rod bearing cap (2) from the cylinder 1.
  5. Remove the connecting rod lower bearing (1).

    Note: Set aside in the order removed.

  7. Push the piston with the connecting rod (1) from the cylinder 1 upward.
  8. Remove the connecting rod upper bearings (2) from the cylinder 1.
  9. Set the crankshaft to BDC of combustion stroke of cylinder 2 and follow the steps 2-6.
  10. Set the crankshaft to BDC of combustion stroke of cylinder 3 and follow the steps 2-6.
