Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement - 2.0L Diesel LLW

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .

  2. 2027922

    Note: Mark the positions from the hoses.

  3. Remove the 2 PCV valve vacuum hoses (5) from the vacuum pipe and EGR valve.
  4. Remove the wiring harness plug from the vacuum modulator (2).
  5. Remove the 2 PCV valve nuts (4).
  6. Remove the PCV valve (3).
  7. Note: Do not damage the sealing surfaces.

  8. Remove the PCV valve gasket (1).
  9. Warning: Refer to Exhaust Service Warning in the Preface section.

    Warning: Refer to Protective Goggles and Glove Warning in the Preface section.

  10. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield bolt (1).
  11. Remove the 2 catalytic converter heat shield nuts (3).
  12. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the catalytic converter heat shield (2).
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the 2 catalytic converter heat shield nuts (3) and tighten to 20N·m (15 lb ft).
  4. Install the catalytic converter heat shield bolt (1) and tighten to 20N·m (15 lb ft).

  6. Install a NEW PCV valve gasket (1).
  7. Install the PCV valve (3).
  8. Install the 2 PCV valve nuts (4) and tighten to 11N·m (98 lb in).
  9. Install the wiring harness plug at the vacuum modulator (2).
  10. Install the 2 PCV valve vacuum hoses (5).
  11. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
