Manual Transmission Shift Lever and Selector Lever Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .

  3. Remove the gear lever and selector lever cable adjust locks (1).

  4. Remove the gear lever and selector lever cable retainer (1) from the transmission control.
  5. Disconnect the gear lever and selector lever cables (2) from the selector control adjusters.

  6. Disconnect the gear lever and selector lever cables from the selector control lever (2) and from the selector and gear lever cable bracket (1).

  7. Remove the gear lever and selector lever cable grommet (1) from the bulkhead.
  8. Remove the gear lever and selector lever cables.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the gear lever and selector lever cables.

  2. Install the gear lever and selector lever cable grommet (1) to the bulkhead.

  3. Connect the gear lever and selector lever cables to the selector control lever (2) and to the selector and gear lever cable bracket (1).

  4. Connect the gear lever and selector lever cables (2) to the selector control adjusters.
  5. Install the gear lever and selector lever cable retainer (1) to the transmission control.
  6. Adjust the gear lever and selector lever cables. Refer to Manual Gearbox Gear Lever and Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
  7. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  8. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement
