Sump Cleaning and Inspection

1. Remove the 2 sump baffle bolts (1) and the sump baffle (2).
2. Remove the oil pump screen (3).
3. Clean the sump (4). Remove all the sludge and the oil deposits.
4. Remove the sump drain plug (5) and the sump drain plug seal (6).
5. Inspect the thread of the sump drain plug.
6. Inspect the sump for cracking near the pan rail and the transmission mounting points.
7. Inspect the sump for cracking resulting from impact or flying road debris.
8. Inspect the sump baffle and oil pump screen.
9. Repair or replace the sump as necessary.
