The cruise en(gauge)d indicator, is located on the instrument panel cluster. Ignition 1 voltage is supplied directly to the cruise en(gauge)d indicator. The engine control module (ECM) turns the cruise en(gauge)d indicator ON by grounding the control circuit.
• | The engine is operating. |
• | The ignition 1 voltage is between 7.5-16 V. |
• | The DTCs run continuously once the above conditions are met. |
The ECM detects the cruise en(gauge)d indicator control circuit is open or shorted to ground or voltage.

⇒ | If the cruise en(gauge) indicator illuminates, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster. |
⇒ | If the cruise en(gauge) indicator does not illuminate, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster. |
⇒ | If the cruise en(gauge) indicator illuminates, inspect for a poor connection or replace the K20 Engine Control Module. |
