The Bluetooth Module is a mobile device that is powered by battery positive voltage and ground from a break-out harness connected to the radio connector; and Ignition I voltage from a mini fuse adaptor connected to the terminal connection of fuse F6DA at the instrument cluster fuse box. It allows a cordless link between a mobile telephone and the vehicle Bluetooth communication system. The Bluetooth Module is not connected to the GMLAN system. It communicates with the mobile telephone via low-power radio waves. Due to the low power of the signal, about 1 milliwatt, a mobile telephone must be within 10 metres (32 feet) of the vehicle Bluetooth module to connect and operate.
The following is a brief description of potential causes which may aid in diagnosis:
• | Ignition is turned OFF. Make sure to turn ON ignition when using Bluetooth communication. |
• | The mobile phone is not paired to the Bluetooth module. Make sure to pair the mobile phone to the Bluetooth module. Refer to Bluetooth Communication Description and Operation : Holden Genuine Accessory . |
• | The Bluetooth communication is already connected to another paired mobile phone. Make sure to turn OFF other paired mobile phone(s) in the vehicle. |
• | Automatic connection not set on mobile phone. Ensure authorised connection is enabled for Bluetooth communication. Refer to owner handbook of the mobile phone. |
• | The mobile phone does not support Bluetooth connection. |
Bluetooth Communication Description and Operation : Holden Genuine Accessory
1. Ignition ON, Radio On, press the Bluetooth switch 4 times. A series of chimes must be heard from the radio speakers.
2. Ignition ON, activate the Bluetooth function on a mobile telephone with a known to be operating Bluetooth function, and search for Bluetooth devices. The mobile phone must be able to pick up a device labelled GM.BT.
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |

⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the Bluetooth module. |
⇒ | If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the Bluetooth module. |

⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the Bluetooth switch. |
⇒ | If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the Bluetooth switch assembly. |
⇒ | If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the Bluetooth switch assembly. |
