Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Replacement

Removal Procedure
- Open bonnet.
- Remove the automatic transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement : 2.0L Diesel LNP → 1.6L LXT, L2W, LDE and 1.8L 2H0 → 2.0L Diesel LLW .
- Install EN-652 flywheel holder (1) in order to fix the automatic transmission flex plate (2).
- Remove and DISCARD the 6 automatic transmission flex plate bolts (2).
- Remove the automatic transmission flex plate (1).
Installation Procedure
- Clean the 6 screw bores. Rework if necessary.
- Install the automatic transmission flex plate (1).
- Install 6 NEW automatic transmission flex plate bolts (2).
- Install EN-652 flywheel holder (1) in order to fix the automatic transmission flex plate (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Tighten the 6 automatic transmission flex plate bolts in a cross sequence to 35 N·m(26 lb ft).
- Tighten the 6 automatic transmission flex plate bolts in a cross sequence to an additional 30°.Use EN-470-B wrench .
- Tighten the 6 automatic transmission flex plate bolts in a cross sequence to an additional 15°.Use EN-470-B wrench .
- Install automatic transmission. Refer to
Transmission Replacement : 2.0L Diesel LNP → 1.6L LXT, L2W, LDE and 1.8L 2H0 → 2.0L Diesel LLW .
- Close the bonnet.
