Engine Oil Cooler Replacement — 2.0L Diesel LNP
Removal Procedure
Drain the engine oil. Refer to
Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
.
Drain the engine cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
Remove the generator. Refer to
Generator Replacement
:
2.0L Diesel LNP
→
2.0L Diesel LLW
→
1.4L LDD, LUH, and LUJ

1.6L LXT,L2W
→
1.6L LDE, LXV, LLU, 1.8L 2H0, and LUW

Remove the engine oil cooler outlet hose. Refer to
Engine Oil Cooler Outlet Hose Replacement
:
2.0L Diesel LNP
→
1.4L LUH and LUJ
.
Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooling feed hose. Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooling Feed Hose Replacement
.
Remove the 8 engine oil cooler retaining bolts (3, 4).
Remove the engine oil cooler (2) along with the 2 engine oil cooler gaskets (1).
Installation Procedure
Clean the sealing surfaces.
Install the engine oil cooler (2) along with 2 NEW engine oil cooler gaskets (1).
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the 8 engine oil cooler retaining bolts (3, 4). Tighten the bolts to
25 N·m (18 lb ft)
.
Install the engine oil cooler outlet hose. Refer to
Engine Oil Cooler Outlet Hose Replacement

Install the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooling feed hose. Refer to

Install the generator. Refer to

Fill the engine cooling system. Refer to

Fill in the engine oil. Refer to
Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
