Circuit/System Description

When the headlight switch is placed in dipped beam position, the body control module (BCM) applies a voltage to the headlights through their respective voltage supply circuits.

Conditions for Running the DTC

B2575 01 and B2699 01

The headlamps are turned OFF.

B2575 02, B2575 04, B2699 02 and B2699 04

The headlamps are turned ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

B2575 01 and B2699 01

The BCM detects a short to voltage on the control circuit.

B2575 02 and B2699 02

The BCM detects a short to ground on the control circuit.

B2575 04 and B2699 04

The BCM detects an open control circuit.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The appropriate headlamp is inoperative.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

Circuit/System Verification

Ignition ON, command the appropriate Headlamp Low Beam test. The headlamps should be ON/OFF.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate headlamp.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the appropriate headlamp ground circuit harness connector listed below and ground.
  3. • E13L Headlamp Assembly - Left ground circuit harness connector terminal 3
    • E13R Headlamp Assembly - Right ground circuit harness connector terminal 3
If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the appropriate headlamp control circuit harness connector listed below and ground.
  5. • E13L Headlamp Assembly - Left signal circuit harness connector terminal 2
    • E13R Headlamp Assembly - Right signal circuit harness connector terminal 2
  6. Command the Left Headlamp Low Beam or Right Headlamp Low Beam test with a scan tool. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the commanded states.
  7. If the test lamp is always ON, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
If the test lamp is always OFF, test the Signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module.
  8. If all the circuits test normal, replace the appropriate headlamp.
