Circuit | Short to Ground | High Resistance | Short to Voltage | Signal Performance |
---|---|---|---|---|
Battery Voltage | P2534 | P0562, P2534 | - | P0562, P2534 |
Ground | -- | P0562, P2534 | - | P0722, P0723 |
The transmission control module (TCM) continuously monitors the system voltage on the Ignition 1 voltage circuits. Lower than normal voltage may be inadequate to operate the transmission control solenoids properly. Improper solenoid operation may cause erratic transmission operation, which may result in internal damage. These DTCs detect high or low TCM voltage for an extended period.
• | Ignition voltage was greater than 6.0 volts, and has not dropped below 2.0 volts. |
• | Engine speed is greater than 1,200 RPM. |
The ignition voltage was greater than 6.0 volts, and has not dropped below 2.0 volts.
The TCM detects system voltage is 11 volts or less for 4 seconds in a period of 12 seconds.
The TCM detects system voltage is 18 volts or greater for 10 seconds in a period of 12 seconds.
DTCs P0562 and P0563 are Type C DTCs.
DTCs P0562 and P0563 are Type C DTCs.
• | Observe the driver information centre (DIC) messaging that would indicate the electrical system requires service. |
• | Inspect for the following conditions: |
- | Loose or damaged terminals at the generator |
- | Loose or worn generator drive belt |
• | Running the engine with a battery charger attached may cause DTC P0563 to set. |

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
⇒ | If not within the specified range, or the charge indicator light is ON, refer to Charging System Test . |
Note: You must perform the Circuit/System Verification first.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
• | Terminal 1 |
• | Terminal 12 |
• | Terminal 13 |
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the affected B+ or ignition circuit for a short-circuit to ground or an open/high resistance. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
• | Before replacing the TCM, perform the Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Inspection . |
• | Refer to Control Module References for control solenoid valve assembly replacement, set-up, and programming. |
• | Perform the Transmission Adaptive Values Learn following all transmission related repairs. |
