Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement

Special Tools

    • EN-6015 Closer Plug
    • EN-34730-91 Fuel Pressure Gauge

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

Removal Procedure

Warning: Petrol or petrol vapours are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store petrol or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

Warning: Always wear safety goggles when working with fuel in order to protect the eyes from fuel splash.

  1. Open the bonnet.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection : without Start/Stop System .
  3. Relieve the fuel pressure, using the test connection with EN-34730-91 gauge .

  5. Unclip the fuel feed pipe (1) from the fuel feed pipe clip (2).
  6. Release the fuel feed pipe (1) from the multiport fuel injection fuel rail (3).
  7. Close the fuel feed pipe (1) and the multiport fuel injection fuel rail (3) with EN-6015 plugs .
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  10. Remove the exhaust pipe front hanger and front suspension support bolts (2).
  11. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame bolt (3).
  12. Remove the drivetrain and front suspension frame support.

  14. Unclip the fuel feed pipe (3) from the rear brake and fuel pipe clip (2).
  15. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (3) from the fuel feed pipe connector (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  16. Close the fuel feed pipe (3) and the fuel feed pipe connector (1) with EN-6015 plugs .

  18. Unclip the fuel feed pipe (1) from the other 5 brake and fuel pipe clips (2).
  19. Note: Do not bend the fuel feed pipe.

  20. Remove the fuel feed pipe (1).

Installation Procedure

    Note: Do not bend the fuel feed pipe.

  1. Install the fuel feed pipe (1).
  2. Clip the fuel feed pipe (1) into the 5 brake and fuel pipe clips (2).

  4. Remove the EN-6015 closer plugs from the fuel feed pipe connector (1) and the fuel feed pipe (3).
  5. Connect the fuel feed pipe (3) to the fuel feed pipe connector (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  6. Clip the fuel feed pipe (3) into the rear brake and fuel pipe clip (2).

  8. Install the drivetrain and front suspension frame support.
  9. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Note: Do NOT reuse old bolts.

  10. Install the NEW drivetrain and front suspension frame bolt (3) and tighten to 160 N·m (118 lb ft).
  11. Install the NEW exhaust pipe front hanger bolts (2) - M8 and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  12. Install the NEW front suspension support bolts (2) - M10 and tighten to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
  13. Lower the vehicle.

  15. Remove the EN-6015 closer plugs from the fuel feed pipe (1) and the multiport fuel injection fuel rail (3).
  16. Install the fuel feed pipe (1) to the multiport fuel injection fuel rail (3).
  17. Clip the fuel feed pipe (1) into the fuel feed pipe clip (2).
  18. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection : without Start/Stop System .
  19. Close the bonnet.
