Preliminary Procedures

1. Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
2. Remove the headlining trim panel. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement : without Sunroof  → with Sunroof .

Roof Side Rail Inflatable Restraint Module Fastener (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
9.5 N·m (84 lb in)

Roof Side Rail Inflatable Restraint Module Retainer (Qty: 5)

Procedure

1. Insert suitable pliers into the holes on the retainer.
2. Compress the retainer tabs inward and pull the retainer to disengage from the vehicle.

Procedure

Disconnect the roof side rail inflatable restraint module electrical connector.

Tip
The bolts, clip, and the push in retainers are an integral part of the module and should remain with the module.
