Generator Replacement - 1.8L 2H0

1. Open the bonnet.
2. Remove the right tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation
3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection : without Start/Stop System .
4. Remove the generator and air conditioning compressor belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .



5. Remove the alternator wiring harness nut (4).
6. Remove the 2 alternator wiring harnesses (2, 3) from the alternator (1).



7. Remove the 2 generator bolts (2).
8. Remove the generator (1).

1. Install the generator (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the 2 generator bolts (2) and tighten to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).



3. Install the 2 alternator wiring harnesses (2, 3) to the alternator (1).
4. Install the alternator wiring harness nut (4) and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
5. Install the generator and air conditioning compressor belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
6. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection : without Start/Stop System .
7. Install the right tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation
8. Close the bonnet.
