When the body control module (BCM) receives a boot open signal, the BCM supplies B+ to the cargo lamp control circuit. This will illuminate the cargo lamp.

Observe the driver information centre while opening and closing the boot. The driver information centre should display the boot ajar message only when the boot is open.
⇒ | If the driver information centre displays the boot ajar message when the boot is closed, refer to Door Ajar Indicator Malfunction . |
Note: Circuit/System Verification must be performed before Circuit/System Testing.
⇒ | If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 Body Control Module. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
