Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Replacement -- Left Hand Drive

Removal Procedure
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) evaporator and blower module assembly. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Evaporator and Blower Module Assembly Replacement .

  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the A/C module wiring harness (1).
  5. Remove the floor air outlet ducts. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side : Right Hand Drive → Left Hand Drive and Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side : Right Hand Drive → Left Hand Drive .
  6. Remove the heater core. Refer to Heater Core Replacement : Right Hand Drive → Left Hand Drive .

  7. Remove the A/C evaporator tube seal (1).

  8. Remove the heater and A/C evaporator case screws (1).
  9. Remove the heater and A/C evaporator case (2) from A/C evaporator and blower module assembly (3).

  10. Remove the evaporator rear cover screws (1).
  11. Remove the evaporator rear cover (2) from A/C evaporator and blower module assembly.
  12. Remove the A/C evaporator core (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the A/C evaporator core (3).
  2. Install the evaporator rear cover (2) to A/C evaporator and blower module assembly.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the evaporator rear cover screws (1) and tighten to 1.2 N·m (11 lb in).

  4. Install the heater and A/C evaporator case (2) to A/C evaporator and blower module assembly (3).
  5. Install the heater and A/C evaporator case screws (1) and tighten to 1.2 N·m (11 lb in).

  6. Install the A/C evaporator tube seal (1).
  7. Install the heater core. Refer to Heater Core Replacement : Right Hand Drive → Left Hand Drive .
  8. Install the floor air outlet ducts. Refer to Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side : Right Hand Drive → Left Hand Drive and Floor Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side : Right Hand Drive → Left Hand Drive .

  9. Install the A/C module wiring harness (1).
  10. Connect the electrical connectors.
  11. Install the A/C evaporator and blower module assembly. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Evaporator and Blower Module Assembly Replacement .
  12. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
