Power Steering Gear Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove as much power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe clamp bolt (1).
Disconnect the power steering gear feed tube fittings (2).
Disconnect the power steering gear inlet pipe fittings (3).
Disconnect the power steering pump outlet pipe fitting (1).
Remove the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose (2) from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Install the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose to the vehicle.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the power steering gear inlet pipe fitting (3) and tighten to
28 N·m (21 lb ft)
.
Install the power steering gear feed tube fitting (2) and tighten to
13 N·m (10 lb ft)
.
Install the power steering gear inlet pipe/hose clamp bolt and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in)
.
Install the power steering pump outlet pipe fitting (1) and tighten to
28 N·m (21 lb ft)
.
Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to
