Lower Control Arm Replacement
Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Remove the lower control arm ball joint to steering knuckle retaining bolt (1) and separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
Remove the front lower control arm to cradle bolts (1) and the front lower control bush brackets (2).
Remove the rear lower control arm to cradle bolts and nuts (1).
Remove the lower control arm (1) from the cradle.
Installation Procedure
Position the lower control arm (1) in the vehicle.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the rear lower control arm to cradle bolts and nuts (1) and tighten to
110 N·m (81 lb ft)
.
Install the front lower control arm bush brackets (2) and the front lower control arm to cradle bolts (1) and tighten to
110 N·m (81 lb ft)
.
Install the lower control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle.
Install the lower control arm ball joint to steering knuckle retaining bolt (1) and tighten to
65 N·m (81 lb ft)
.
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
.
Lower the vehicle to the ground.
