Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
2. Remove the upper intake manifold housing. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement .
3. Remove the fuel rail retaining nut (1).

If needed, remove engine coolant surge tank retaining bolt and put it away from the path for easy access, and also remove air cleaner assembly.




4. Disconnect the fuel hose from the fuel rail (2).
5. Disconnect the fuel rail and fuel injector connector.
6. Relieve fuel Injector clip (1) and remove the fuel rail (2) with the fuel injector.

1. Install the fuel rail with the fuel injector.
2. Connect the fuel rail and fuel injector connector.
3. Connect the fuel hose to the fuel rail.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

4. Install the fuel rail retaining nut (1) and tighten to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).
