Door Jamb Switch Ground | -- | 2 | 2 | -- |
1. Door Ajar Indicator Always Illuminated 2. Door Ajar Indicator Inoperative |
Battery voltage is supplied at all times to the door ajar indicator the I/P fuse block. The door jamb switches are normally open when the door is fully closed. When a door is opened, the door jamb switch contacts close providing a path to ground for the door ajar indicator.
Observe the function of the door ajar indicator while opening and closing each door. The door ajar indicator should turn ON and OFF as each door is opened and closed.
⇒ | If the door ajar indicator is illuminated, test the control circuit terminal 44 for a short circuit to ground. |
⇒ | If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC. |
⇒ | If the door ajar indicator is not illuminated, test the control circuit for an open/high resistance. |
⇒ | If the circuit tests normal, replace the IPC. |
