Camshaft Exhaust Sprocket Replacement

1. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement : with CH-49290 → with EN-50176 .
2. Remove the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement and Adjustment .




Caution: Use extreme care when installing the camshaft not to nick, scratch, or damage the camshaft lobes or bearing surfaces.

3. While holding the intake camshaft firmly in place, remove the intake camshaft sprocket bolt.
4. Remove the intake camshaft sprocket (1).
5. While holding the exhaust camshaft firmly in place, remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket bolt.
6. Remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket.

Caution: Use extreme care when installing the camshaft not to nick, scratch, or damage the camshaft lobes or bearing surfaces.

1. Install the intake camshaft sprocket (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. While holding the intake camshaft firmly in place, install the intake camshaft sprocket bolt and tighten to60 N·m (44 lb ft).
3. Install the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
4. While holding the exhaust camshaft firmly in place, install the exhaust camshaft gear bolt and tighten to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
5. Install the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement and Adjustment .
6. Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement : with CH-49290 → with EN-50176 .
