Camshaft Exhaust Sprocket Replacement
Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine front cover. Refer to
Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement : with CH-49290 → with EN-50176 .
- Remove the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement and Adjustment .
Caution: Use extreme care when installing the camshaft not to nick, scratch, or damage the camshaft lobes or bearing surfaces.
- While holding the intake camshaft firmly in place, remove the intake camshaft sprocket bolt.
- Remove the intake camshaft sprocket (1).
- While holding the exhaust camshaft firmly in place, remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket bolt.
- Remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Use extreme care when installing the camshaft not to nick, scratch, or damage the camshaft lobes or bearing surfaces.
- Install the intake camshaft sprocket (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- While holding the intake camshaft firmly in place, install the intake camshaft sprocket bolt and tighten to60 N·m (44 lb ft).
- Install the exhaust camshaft sprocket.
- While holding the exhaust camshaft firmly in place, install the exhaust camshaft gear bolt and tighten to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).
- Install the timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement and Adjustment .
- Install the engine front cover. Refer to
Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement : with CH-49290 → with EN-50176 .
