DTC B1325

Diagnostic Instructions

    • Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
    • Review Strategy Based Diagnosis for an overview of the diagnostic approach.
    • Diagnostic Procedure Instructions provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

DTC Descriptors

DTC B1325 03: Control Module Power Circuit Low Voltage

DTC B1325 07: Control Module Power Circuit High Voltage

Circuit/System Description

When the ignition switch is turned to ON, the sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) will perform a turn-on test to diagnose critical malfunctions within SDM itself

Upon passing these tests, ignition and deployment loop voltages are measured to ensure that they are within their normal voltage ranges. The SDM monitors the voltages at the driver low to detect shorts to ground or voltage in the deployment loops.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Battery voltage must be less than 9 volts or greater than 15.9 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

During the self diagnostics, the SDM has detected that the system voltage is below 9 volts or above 15.9 volts.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The SDM commands the airbag indicator ON

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • When the voltage is within the specified parameters, the DTC will be a history DTC.
    • A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles

Diagnostic Aids

Verify that DTC P0562 or P0563 are not set prior to performing extensive electrical diagnostic tests.

Circuit/System Verification

Engine running, observe the scan tool System Voltage parameter. The value should be between 9.6 and 13.6 volts.

If greater or less than the specified range, refer to Charging System Test

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K36 SDM.
  2. Test for less than 30 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 19 and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  4. Ignition ON, verify that a test lamp illuminates between the ignition circuit terminal 17 and ground.
  5. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance
  6. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 9 and ground.
  7. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  8. If all circuits test normal, replace the K36 SDM.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
