Camshaft Sprocket Installation

Special Tools

    • EN-956-1 Extension
    • EN-45059 Torque Angle Sensor
    • EN-50514 Holder Camshaft
    • EN-50515 Fixing Tool Camshaft
    • EN-50516 Fixing Tool Crankshaft

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .

  1. Clean the contact surfaces from camshaft, camshaft sprocket and positive crankcase ventilation oil separator.

  3. Install the camshaft sprocket (3).
  4. Install the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator (2).
  5. Note: Do not tighten the bolt.

  6. Install the NEW camshaft sprocket bolt (1).

    Note: The holding pins from the EN-50514 holder  (1) must be installed exactly in the holes (arrows) from the camshaft sprocket (2).

  8. Install the EN-50514 holder  (1) with the EN-956-1 extension to counterhold the camshaft sprocket (2).
  9. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  10. Tighten the NEW camshaft sprocket bolt to 100 N·m +45° (74 lb ft + 45°), use the EN-45059 torque angle .
  11. Remove the EN-50514 holder (1).

    Note: Ensure that the camshaft and the crankshaft are fixed with the EN-50515 fixing tool and the EN-50516 fixing tool .

  13. Install the timing chain (1) to the camshaft sprocket (2) and the crankshaft sprocket (3).
