- Clean the sealing surfaces.
Note: All sealing and gasket mating surfaces are to be free of oil and foreign material.
- Apply silicone sealing compound (2) to the oil sump sealing surface (1).
| • | The sealing bead width should be 3.0 mm (0.118 in). |
| • | The sealing bead height should be 2.0 mm (0.079 in). |
Note: Assemble the oil sump no later than 3 minutes from the application of the sealer.
- Install the sump (1).
- Loosely install the 13 oil sump bolts (2) to the oil sump (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Tighten the 13 oil sump bolts in sequence as shown to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the transmission support brace (1).
- Install the 3 transmission support brace bolts (2) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
Note: For vehicles with air conditioning
- Install the air conditioning compressor bracket (2).
- Install the 4 air conditioning compressor bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
