Test the radio on signal circuit for a short to ground or open.

  1. Test the resistance of the steering wheel control switches.
  2. Press the steering wheel control switches to the correct function, one at a time, and compare the measured values to those shown.

Are the measured resistances approximately equal to the specified values?

Volume Up: 1.2 K Ω Volume Down: 1.56 K Ω Mode: 1.9 K Ω Mute: 2.38 K Ω Seek Up: 3.1 K Ω Seek Down: 4.28 K Ω Seek Type: 6.65 K Ω Pre-Set: 13.6 K Ω

Test the steering wheel controls signal circuit for a short, high resistance or an open.
