Battery Negative Cable Replacement - LE5

1. Record all of the radio station presets.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .



3. Remove the battery negative body ground nut (1) from the fuse block retaining bracket.



4. Remove the battery negative engine ground bolt (1) from the engine.

Note: Observe how the battery positive cable was routed within the engine compartment.

5. Remove the battery negative cable.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the battery negative cable bolt (1) to the engine block and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).



2. Install the battery negative cable nut (1) to the fuse block retaining bracket and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).



3. Install battery negative cable clamp (1) to the battery and tighten to10 N·m (89 lb in).
4. Reset the radio channel presets.
