Air Conditioning Condenser and Air Conditioning Evaporator Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
  3. Remove radiator opening upper cover. Refer to Radiator Opening Upper Cover Replacement : Long Body

  5. Remove the liquid line bolt from the condenser.
  6. Remove the liquid line from the condenser.

  8. Remove the liquid line nut from the thermal expansion valve.

  10. Remove the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement : Diesel → Petrol Engines
  11. Remove the ECM bracket mounting nuts.
  12. Remove the liquid line nut from the vehicle.
  13. Remove the liquid line from the vehicle.
  14. Remove and discard the seal washers. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the liquid line into the vehicle.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the ECM bracket mounting nuts and tighten to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  5. Install new seal washer to the liquid line. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement
  6. Install the liquid line to the condenser.
  7. Install the liquid line to condenser bolt and tighten to 14 N·m (10 lb ft).

  9. Install the liquid line to the thermal expansion valve.
  10. Install the liquid line to the thermal expansion valve nut and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  12. Install the liquid line clip nut to the vehicle.
  13. Install the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement : Diesel → Petrol Engines
  14. Install radiator opening upper cover. Refer to Radiator Opening Upper Cover Replacement : Long Body
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
  16. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
