Alternator Battery Jumper Cable Replacement - LF1/LNQ

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .



2. Remove the starter heat shield screw (1) and shield (2) from the starter.



3. Remove the alternator battery jumper cable (2) and nut (1) from the starter.



4. Remove the alternator battery jumper cable (2) and nut (1), from the back of the alternator.
5. Remove the alternator battery jumper cable from the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




1. Install the alternator battery jumper cable (2) to the starter solenoid and tighten the nut (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).



2. Install the alternator battery jumper cable (2) to the alternator and tighten the nut (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).



3. Install the starter heat shield (2) to the starter and tighten screw to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
4. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
