Piston, Connecting Rod, and Bearing Cleaning and Inspection

1. Measure the piston ring gap using a feeler gauge.
2. If the piston ring gap is out of specification, replace the piston ring.



3. Measure the piston ring groove clearance using a feeler gauge.
4. If the piston ring groove clearance is out of specification, replace the piston and rings.



5. Inspect the connecting rod end play and check the specification.
