Lower Crankcase Installation

Note: 

   • Ensure that the lower crankcase sealing surface is clear of oil, grease and old sealant material.
   • Do not coat sealant on the lower crankcase bolt holes, it could damage the lower crankcase bolt threads or the engine block.

  1. Apply sealant (Three-Bond, 12378521) on the sealant line (1).

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the lower crankcase (2).

  3. Install the 10 lower crankcase bolts (1) in sequence.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the lower crankcase bolt (Hex, M12) to 55 N·m + 120° (40.5 lb ft + 120°).
