Timing Belt Removal

1. Mark the running direction of the timing belt.



2. Rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the notch in the crankshaft sprocket (2) aligns with the mark in the oil pump housing (1).



3. Fix the camshaft pulley as shown (1) by installing a M6x1.25 bolt (2).



4. Fix the fuel pump drive pulley by installing a M6x1.25 bolt (1).



5. Loosen the timing belt tensioner bolt (1).
6. Rotate the timing belt tensioner pulley (3)  90° counter clockwise (2). Use a hexagon socket (4).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

7. Tighten the timing belt tensioner bolt.



8. Remove the timing belt (1).
