Inlet Manifold Installation - 1.7L Diesel LUD, LUE

  1. Clean the sealing surfaces.

  2. Install the inlet manifold (1) along with the fuel rail bracket and the inlet manifold gasket.
  3. Install the 6 inlet manifold bolts (2).
  4. Install the 2 inlet manifold nuts (4).
  5. Install the 2 fuel rail bracket bolts (3).

    6. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Tighten the 2 inlet manifold nuts, the 6 inlet manifold bolts and the 2 fuel rail bracket bolts in a sequence as shown to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Connect the 2 turbocharger wastegate actuator control solenoid valve vacuum hoses (2).
  8. Connect the temperature sensor wiring harness plug (1) to the retainer clip.

  9. Connect the vacuum hose (1) to the vacuum pump.

  10. Install the inlet manifold bracket bolt (1) and tighten to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
