Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Installation - 1.7L Diesel LUD, LUE

1. Clean all the sealing surfaces.
2. Install a NEW exhaust gas recirculation valve gasket (5).
3. Install a NEW exhaust gas recirculation bypass valve gasket (8).
4. Install a NEW exhaust gas recirculation coolant pipe seal ring (6).
5. Install the exhaust gas recirculation assembly.
6. Install the vacuum tube bracket.
7. Loosely install the 3 exhaust gas recirculation valve bolts (4).
8. Loosely install the 2 exhaust gas recirculation bypass valve bolts (1).
9. Loosely install the exhaust gas recirculation coolant pipe bolt (9).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

10. Install the 2 exhaust gas recirculation cooler bolts (2) and tighten to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
11. Tighten the 3 exhaust gas recirculation valve bolts (4) to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).
12. Tighten the 2 exhaust gas recirculation bypass valve bolts (1) to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).
13. Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation coolant pipe bolt (9) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
14. Tighten the exhaust gas recirculation coolant hose clamp (7).
15. Connect the vacuum hose to the exhaust gas recirculation vacuum actuator.
