Exhaust Manifold Installation - 1.7L Diesel LUD, LUE

1. Clean the sealing surfaces.
2. Install a NEW exhaust manifold gasket (1).
3. Install the exhaust manifold (2) along with the turbocharger.
4. Loosely install the 7 exhaust manifold nuts (4) and the washers (3).
5. Loosely install the 2 exhaust manifold bolts (5) and the washers (3).




Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

6. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts and the exhaust manifold bolts in the sequence as shown to 69 N·m (51 lb ft).



7. Connect the turbocharger oil return hose to the engine and install the clamp (2).
8. Install the turbocharger oil feed pipe hollow screw (4). Use NEW seal rings (3) and (5).
9. Tighten the turbocharger oil feed pipe banjo bolt to 21 N·m (16 lb ft).
10. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator vacuum source tube (1) to the turbocharger wastegate vacuum control solenoid valve.
