- Install a NEW pressure limiter valve (2) and hand-tighten until it stops.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Tighten the pressure limiter valve to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Use the clamp position (1, 2).
Note: Use aluminium braces (2) to protect the fuel rail from damage.
Note: Ensure that the pressure sensor is not positioned between the vice clamps.
- Clamp the fuel rail in a bench vice, with the pressure limiter valve (1) facing upward.
- Using a permanent pen, draw a line (1) on the pressure limiter valve and a line (2) on the fuel rail.
- Draw a line (3) at a distance (a) of 4 mm (0.16 in) clockwise from the line (2) on the fuel rail.
- Tighten the pressure limiter valve to 172 N·m (127 lb ft).
- If line (2) does not go over line (1), tighten the pressure limiter valve to 190 N·m (140 lb ft).
