Air Conditioning Condenser Replacement — 1.8L LFH and 1.7L Diesel LUD

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  4. Remove the headlamp - right side. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .

  6. Remove the intake air duct (1).

  8. Remove the condenser hose (1) and the evaporator hose (2). Remove the 2 hose nuts.
  9. Remove the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement .

  11. Remove the air conditioning condenser.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air conditioning condenser.
  2. Install the A/C refrigerant pressure sensor. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement .
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the condenser hose (1) and the evaporator hose (2) and the 2 condenser hose nuts and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  6. Install the intake air duct (1).
  7. Install the headlamp right side. Refer to Headlamp Replacement .
  8. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  9. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  10. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
